Twas the day before December break...

Here I am dressed up like one of the Whos in Whoville and reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It's one of my very favorite read aloud books and we always read it the day before break!

Here is our Poinsettia which Jacey re-named the Poin-dead-ia because it looked great on Friday but then looked like this come Monday morning! She made it this paper heart in hopes that it might come back to life. No luck so far unfortunately!

Whole school sing along complete with teachers doing the can-can and singing Jingle Bell Rock.

Measurement Trees

This week we worked on a math/art/holiday fusion project! First students created backgrounds by drawing snow with white crayon on white paper and watching it "magically appear" when they painted over it with blue water color paint. They then used rulers to measure and cut lengths of green paper for the branches on evergreen trees. Today they finished up by decorating their trees! These are coming home today.
