Sharing Schedule

On Monday our class will begin adding the share component to our morning meetings. Morning meetings happen when we first come into class and take attendence/lunch count and calendar, then read our morning message, do a greeting, shares, and an activity. Students have practiced sharing through lightening shares where we go around the circle and everyone shares one thing and our brown bag shares. When we did brown bag shares every student had the opportunity to put things that represented themselves in a brown paper lunch bag then bring it in and share their special items with the class.

This coming week we will begin following a sharing schedule where four students get to share and take questions and comments from the class each morning. The goal is for students to practice speaking on one topic to the group, to practice listening, asking questions, and to learn more about each other.  As this share time is meant to help students strengthen speaking and listening skills (and not to show toys, games, electronics, trading cards, or other things of that nature from home) students generally tell about experiences, pets, trips, etc without a physical object to show.

Here is our current sharing schedule if you would like to talk to your child over the weekend about what he/she might like to share next week. This schedule may change during the year but for now it will be as follows:
