First Week of School!

Amazingly we just finished our first (short) week of school for the year! First graders in our class have been reviewing reviewing letter names/sounds, using our word wall, identifying syllables and stretching out words in reading and writing, as well as how to care for books and use our pencils, papers, markers, and other writing supplies! In math we have been reviewing multiple ways to make a number, concepts of greater/less than and odd/even, names and characteristics of shapes, and counting patterns. We have spent lots of time learning about each other, making new friends, and learning/practicing our first grade routines and expectations. Here are some photos of our first three days.
