Nouns and Verbs

First graders spent their word study time last week starting to learn about what nouns and verbs are! We did lots of different activities starting to get familiar with these two parts of speech and, families, you probably saw a lot of that coming home. Your child should be able to tell you that a verb is an action word/something you can do, and a noun is a person/place/thing. They should also be able to give you some examples so try asking them about it at home!
