Four Winds

Once a month we have a Four Winds nature/science lesson with Gardner's mom. Yesterday we learned about snowflakes. Excitingly it snowed during the lesson and we got to go outside to catch and observe the shape of different snowflakes with magnifying glasses!

I Love to Read and Write Party

On Valentine's Day first grade classrooms had "I Love to Read and Write" parties! Family members came in and listened to kids read some of their "good fit" books and some of the work in their writing folders to celebrate our growth in reading and writing this year. After our reading and writing time we had some Valentine treats!

100th Day of School

We have already been at school for 100 days! Where does the time go? Below are photos from our day. In first grade we celebrate by setting up a station focused on the number 100 in each of the four classrooms. Each teacher teaches their lesson four times with the students rotating between the rooms participating in all four. It is always a very fun day that mixes up our work and learning in the middle of winter!
